352nd Fighter Group
S3: Sedan Breakthrough AAR
This was a very interesting scenario because the 352nd FG was forced to fly as members of the Luftwaffe. We flew Me 109E's as a part of the German Blitzkrieg into France. This scenario saw large numbers of Bastards in attendance.
During the first two frames DGoose led JG 352 into battle.
During the first frame JG 352 escorted a group of Stukas. During the initial battle DGoose killed two Hurricanes. Unfortunately, Foxone and Alsail were shot down in subsequent encounters.
Frame Two saw JG 352 engaged in several fighter sweeps. While Tin and DGoose were shot down, Foxone scored two kills and Rhino one.
Frame Three saw 6 members of the 352nd in attendance. BBGun, Absnth, Tin, Rhino, DGoose and myself took to the air in our Me 109's. We initially swept the Antwerp area where we were attacked by a large group of Hurricanes. The group was forced to split up and we headed towards F11 to regroup. I met up with BBGun and we responded to calls from DGoose and Rhino that they were under attack by several more Hurricanes. BBGun and I dove to the attack. During furball BBGun shot down Rf-a and I was rewarded with the kill of Fd-ski. However, Absnth was found while he headed towards us and was shot down. Goose, BBGun, Tin and I headed towards Calais and found several RAF fighters engaging the 305th BG and JG 4. The four of us dove in and DGoose and I scored two more kills. We returned to F11 and sortied again. On our third sortie of the day, DGoose and I scored kills again. For the final sortie we were engaged close to F11. However, we once again cleaned house as DGoose and I scored again.
Frame Four was more of the same. Several successful fighter sweeps. We flew from F11 and covered the Calais area. During our encounters with the RAF DGoose scored two kills as did I. Alsail shot down an enemy bomber that was attacking F11.
Frame Five was the most successful of the scenario for the Bastards. Nine pilots showed up as we once again sortied to engage the RAF over the coast of France. Due to airframe shortages, Joemac and I flew a Me 110 and DGoose led the Me 109's. We took off from F10 and immediately engaged the enemy. From then on it was a series of running battles from right off the coast and back to our base. Rebel and Joemac were shot down and captured. I was shot down, but safely bailed right over our base. But more importantly, we accounted for 14 kills. DGoose and Absnth score 4 kills apiece! BBGun and Rebel scored two while Rhino and myself got one.
