352nd Fighter Group
S3: Cry Wulf AAR
The Cry Wulf scenario saw the 352nd FG take to the air in Spitfire V's to intercept the LuftWaffe's newest fighter, the Fw 190A4. During the 4 frames of the event, the 352nd was given many tasks. At one point we pretended to be bombers in an attempt to lure the LuftWaffe north so the real bomb groups could head south.
During Frame 1, Rhino and Dune sortied three times searching for Fw 190's. We found several, but they were always able to use their superior speed to disengage when we gained the upper hand. Unfortunately, Rhino's Spitfire ran short of fuel and he perished while trying to ditch his plane.
However, the most memorable flight of this scenario occurred in Frame 2 when a member of the 4th FG mistook DGoose for a Me 109 and shot him down. To add to the misfortune, the pilot also attacked Rhino, forcing Dune to shoot him down.
