When I'm not slaving over a hot computer I like to go sailing, backpacking, canoeing and fishing when I get the chance. Another major diversion since high school has been playing drums and singing in a bunch of different rock bands, although I haven't ben real active lately.

I have been flying flight sims since I got my first computer (a hot-rod 80286). My first early favorite was Red Baron. I somehow stumbled across the beta of Warbirds whilst surfing the net, but my computer at the time wasn't up to the task. It wasn't until v1.03 that I finally got .

I've been a member of a number of illustrious WBs squads including dkid's NJG10, where I first hooked up with the likes of llbm, syke and eventually dgoose (I was mjgo back then). I flew with vigl's 335th F.S. during it's heyday where I learned to appreciate the P51D, my favorite ride. When vigl unceremoniously disbanded the squad one day, we became "Vigl's Orphans."

After v2.0 came out I took a hiatus from WBs -- my hardware was again falling short and connect problems were horrible (sound familiar?). I started flying again a year or so ago and and hooked up with many of my old flying friends in the Men of Leisure, aka the MOL. The squad's ironclad rule is -- NO RULES! -- and it was a blast. While I was with MOL, the squad consistently ranked number #1 in the MA, mainly because we were all a bunch of WBs addicts who spent way too much time online. I could always find a few MOL around when I logged on.

I started winging pretty regularly with dgoose and when he told me he was transferring to the 487th I (eventually) decided to come along. I like the anarchic style of the MOL, but the game was getting stale. I am hoping to get into more of a team effort, improve my ACM and tactical skills and start killing more, dieing less. I'll apologize in advance for my tendency toward target fixation and clearing a buddy at all cost -- I die waaaaayy to often.

I generally stick with the P51 when it is available. Prior to that, the 190a4 is my favorite ride. I do like to switch around and try different planes, I'm pretty proficient at Jabo and the last couple TODs I've even started doing some level bombing.

See you up there,
Mark "Absinthe" Greenfield
