My uncle, "Wizzer" of the
Flying Tigers, introduced me to WarBrids in 1998. I joined the FT's and
flew with them for about a year. However, I wanted to join a group that
was more involved in the Historical Arena and the Squad Select Series. I
joined the then 487th F.S. in September of '99 just in the HA. However,
YT and Sick kept after me to join in the Main also. When they offered me
the position of Executive Officer, I knew I couldn't turn it down. In
the few months I've been flying with the Bastards, I have learned more
than I did the first year I flew. I consider all the guys my friends and
have found a new love for WarBirds. After a year of being the XO, I
became the CO, which was one of biggest honors I've ever had. I lead the
Group for two years before turning in the reigns.
The other reason I wanted to join a historical 8th A.F. squadron was
because my grandfather flew in the 8th A.F. during WW2. He flew P-38J's
and P-51D's in the 384th F.S./364th F.G from Honington, England. Since
I've joined the Bastards I have found more and more reasons to call and
talk to him. I really feel that WB and the 352nd has helped me become
closer to him. It's great to ask him about how real P-51D pilots fought.
For the past three years I have been a Deputy County Attorney for Pinal
County, AZ. I prosecute felony cases and cover one justice court. I
enjoy golf, history, hunting, camping and shooting.
