Graduate of the Top Gun Dogfighting Primary Course flying T-6 Texans In my other life I help design lighting systems for Electronics Theater Controls. We build big theater lighting systems for companies like Disney, MGM Grand, ABC, Jay Leno, Broadway productions ect... I also play guitar in the rock band HOT KARL as well as have a beautifull wife and daughter. The little Bong jr. is on his way too, due in August 98. I have my private pilots license and fly Cessna 150's and 172's. Lure to warbirds: I too was living for the next great flight sim. I spent way to much time and money trying to find the perfect simulation. None seem to come close, even though there were many great attempts: USNF, the Aces over xxx series. Even spent a grand to fly real WW2 T-6 Texans in simulated 1 on 1 engagements in the North American Top Gun Primary course. Let me tell you guys I was high for a week afterwards! I couldn't recommend it more. It is the best simulation you can get...though for most spending a grand in a half day is pretty steep. The Warbirds sim is very close to the actual feel of a WW2 bird and the fighting characteristics seem very accurate. The only thing which it does not reproduce is the physical demands....G's. Im telling you real dogfighting is so physically demanding! You are grunting and groaning just to keep your head (which now weighs 5 times what it usually weights) up and the blood in your head. I blacked out twice. Blackout is very simular to Warbirds you have your motor skills but you just can't see. Oops sorry I can ramble on for days about that.... So here I am now with a real craving for real combat. Whats missing. The human element. Enter Warbirds...WOW!!!! I am p syched!!!! I will rule the sky's and kill at will..........Not!!! Holy cow these people are so good! I died deaths upon deaths in the beginning but I have learned a lot of hard lessons between then and now. I have been ultimately impressed as to the wealth of knowlege of my arena buddies and foes. What a cool era that we live in to have a game bring people all over the country, and even out of the country, together with common interests and desires. I am an addict.....there is no other game! I now fly with the 352nd pony drivers. I am overjoyed to fly with a quality group of guys who strive for air superiority as I do but yet know how to have fun as well. I have much to learn, as I am a newcomer to Warbirds in comparison to my squad buddies (Ive been on only a year) but isnt that what we are here for. So watch your 6! The 487th dweeb grinders may be visiting a neigborhood near you! VV!
